Young Sire Sampling Incentive Program Rules and Entry Form
Objectives
The advancement of Red & White dairy cattle and the RWDCA is a common goal among members, breeders and organizations developing and marketing elite Red and RC genetics. The RWDCA's Young Sire Sampling Incentive Program was approved for introduction in July of 2001 as a dedicated effort to:
- Enhance the awareness of young sire genetics available to RWDCA members for breed improvement.
- Assist AI sampling organizations in communicating the availability of semen from the sires entering their programs.
- Encourage young sire usage and subsequent registration of offspring to improve genetic tracking.
- Expand the market potential for Red & White genetics through additional member support of young sires opportunities.
- Build RWDCA Reserve Funds through the enrollment fee for each young sire nominated into the program.
Qualification Details
The following requirements and procedures must be administered and followed by the breeder or organization responsible for sampling young sires entered in the Sampling Incentive Program:
- Bulls must be no older than 24 months of age when nominated.
- Bulls must be registered with the RWDCA.
- Frozen semen from the young sire must be publicly available.
- Enrollment of $50.00 per young sire must be submitted to RWDCA Reserve Fund along with enrollment form.
Features and Benefits of Program
- After they are enrolled, these bulls will be publicized through a listing within the Red Bloodlines. Bulls will be listed on two consecutive listings after they are enrolled.
- RWDCA will encourage members using enrolled young sires to register all female offspring.
- RWDCA will provide lists of daughters from enrolled sires to the breeder or organization entering the bull upon request.
